ESD 15' Low Profile Common Ground Cord

The 15' (4.6m) - long ESD Ground Cord is used to connect ESD tabletop and floor mats to ground. The molded-in fastener has an integral one-mega-ohm resistor, conforms to 10mm snaps, and features a solderless terminal. Can be used with all conductive mats.

Q: How do I know if I need a grounding cord?

A: The idea of ESD matting is to provide a path, or a circuit, to ground. Even though the mat or flooring product is made of materials that will allow electricity to flow, the circuit must be complete all the way to ground. The OHM rating required by the application must be maintained all the way through the circuit until the static electricity reaches ground. The best way to ensure this is by using the correct grounding cord.

Q: Will the Industrial Athlete need additional grounding protection?

A: This depends on the application and current requirements. If the Industrial Athlete is working on sensitive parts that need to be protected from electrostatic charge, a grounding wrist strap is required. A heel strap grounding cord may also be necessary if non-conductive soled shoes are worn.
