Wearwell Donates to Support Education and Literacy

SMYRNA, Tenn. (October 01, 2008):

Wearwell has a history of supporting education and literacy in the community. Continuing that tradition, the company recently donated over a hundred anti-fatigue mats to The Southern Festival of Books: A Celebration of the Written Word. The Festival welcomes more than 200 authors from throughout the nation and in every genre, for readings, panel discussions and book signings. “We’ll be using the mats at book sales and in the headquarters area on War Memorial Plaza to keep some pep in the steps of our staff and volunteers throughout the weekend. It’s very helpful when working on the hard marble during very long days,” said Abby Trotter, one of the event’s organizers.

Wearwell has provided support for other educational projects over the last several years. These donations include matting valued at over $75,000 to Davidson, Robertson and Sumner County Schools.

This year the company donated 100 anti-fatigue mats to Rutherford County Schools. The company made the move to Rutherford County last year and has enjoyed being a part of the growing community. “This area is growing and we are very excited to be a part of that growth,” said Elliot Greenberg, Wearwell President. “Supporting the education of our local youth is just one of the ways we hope to make a difference in our city.”
